The games in the L'As des jeux Bazar are pre-played games. They have been inspected by one of our game experts and are certified "Complete." You may find some minor imperfections, such as light wear on the box or on certain game components.
The Game of Things turns any night into a contest for the group's wildest one-liners. The reader draws a topic card - "Things you should never say to a police officer" or "Things found in grandma's purse" - and everyone scribbles down their funniest answer on a slip of paper. The reader shuffles the slips, reads them aloud, and players must guess, entirely from memory, who wrote what. Every correct guess scores a point, while the one response nobody pins down earns a nice bonus. Easy to learn, this party game runs entirely on the group's sense of humor: the better (or worse) you know each other, the funnier the surprises get. With 300 topic cards packed in the box, no two game nights play out the same way.
You'll probably love The Game of Things if you live for nights that end in tears of laughter, if you enjoy guessing what's going on inside your friends' heads, and if a little improv and self-deprecation doesn't scare you off. It's the perfect party game for a loosened-up adult get-together, a slightly unhinged family dinner, or an office night out where everyone shows a completely different side of themselves.
Since its release in 2002, The Game of Things has spawned several spin-offs, including an adults-only edition called The Game of Nasty Things and a themed version inspired by the hit show Schitt's Creek. The game also holds a steady spot among BoardGameGeek's top-ranked party games, still racking up glowing reviews more than twenty years after it first hit shelves.
The game was dreamed up by the trio of Tom Quinn, Ted Quinn and Mark Sherry, who wanted to bottle the feeling of an improvised guessing game played among friends. Their concept is as simple as it is effective: it runs entirely on the players' personalities and humor rather than on complicated components - a formula that explains its staying power more than two decades later.
