Welcome to Florimelle, an elegant city where a grand beautification effort has just begun. In Fountains, you become a master Fountaineer tasked with transforming the city's gardens and plazas by building the most magnificent fountain ever seen. This tile-laying game relies on stacked tiles: you build your fountain level by level, making sure water flows up to your highest spout, or your cut-off areas will score nothing.

Each turn, you move one of the tokens 1 to 3 spaces around the central board, then take the tile next to it and add it to your fountain. When a token stops on a green, blue or white space, everyone scores for lily pads, pools linked by constant water flow, or fish, depending on the color. The higher an element sits in your fountain, the more it is worth. A game lasts 30 to 45 minutes, solo or with up to 5 players.
