ClueBox / Cambridge Labyrinth (ML)

The story drops the player into 19th century Cambridge, following in the footsteps of scholar William Whewell, a founding member of the Cambridge Philosophical Society. According to the legend printed on the box, candidates for this learned society once had to pass a dreaded initiation test: crack the mystery of a labyrinth box before they could hope to be admitted. That same test now awaits the player, tasked with guiding a small metal ball through a maze of hidden passages to work through every lock on the cube.

Entirely laser cut, the Cambridge Labyrinth is built from 167 wooden pieces assembled by hand and six acrylic panels, combining number dials, levers and a genuine ball-run labyrinth housed at the heart of the cube. It typically takes 60 to 90 minutes to crack the puzzle, solo or as a duo, from age 14 and up, nudging each mechanism gently to let the ball find its way to the secret compartment. The fifth model in the ClueBox collection, it carries an intermediate to advanced difficulty rating, a notch above the earlier boxes in the line. Once solved, the mechanism resets completely, so this wooden puzzle box can be passed around between friends or family without ever spoiling the surprise for the next player.

The puzzle is designed by iDventure, a German studio specializing in wooden puzzle boxes inspired by adventure and escape worlds.
