A missed call from your old friend Ryan Finch, an officer in Cape Anna, quickly turns into an emergency: the moment you play back his voicemail, you learn he has been framed for murder, and that a shark attack is somehow tangled up in the case. Blood in the Water is a cooperative mystery box that pulls you into an immersive investigation set in a picturesque New England town. Sealed envelopes, physical clues, suspect interviews, and QR codes to decode all come together to tell a suspenseful story you live out right at home, solo or with a crew.

Blood in the Water is for you if you love slipping into the shoes of a detective, handling real paper clues instead of tapping a screen, and following a twisty plot with family or friends. It will also appeal to fans of Unlock! or Exit boxes who are looking for a different pace, one built around a proper crime investigation you can savor over more than one sitting.

According to the publisher, this case carries a difficulty rating of 6 out of 10, challenging without being discouraging. The mysterious town of Cape Anna is no stranger to trouble either: it was also the setting of an earlier investigation that earned the title of mystery box of the year, making it a recurring world that mystery fans enjoy revisiting from one case to the next.

The case is written by Adam Preston, known as "The Professor" on the writing team behind these mysteries. A former math teacher turned full-time puzzle and riddle craftsman who keeps more than fifty of them in his own office, his knack for tightly built mechanisms shows in how this investigation comes together.
