*French version
A card flips over, five wooden figures sit waiting on the table, and you need to be faster than everyone else to grab the right one. In Bazar Bizarre (FR), a mischievous ghost has photographed everything he loves to make disappear, but his enchanted camera keeps getting the colors wrong. A green bottle shows up white, a grey mouse turns red. Every time a card is revealed, all players lunge at once for the ghost, the chair, the bottle, the book, or the mouse, following a split-second deduction rule: if one pictured object shows its true color, grab it; if both are the wrong color, grab the missing object instead, in its true color. This simple yet wildly addictive speed game turns every round into a shared burst of laughter and a true family game, perfect for group dinners or game nights with friends.
Bazar Bizarre is for you if you love reflex challenges that scramble your brain in a split second, if you are looking for a party game you play standing up with your hands ready to pounce, and if you want a game that brings together toddlers and adults around the very same table. Easy to explain in two minutes, it quickly becomes the go-to classic you keep pulling out again and again.
Released in 2010, Bazar Bizarre made enough of an impression to land on the recommendation list of the prestigious German Spiel des Jahres award in 2011, alongside a finalist nod for the Le Lys Enfant prize the same year. It went on to win Finland's family game of the year title (Vuoden Peli) in 2012, proving its appeal reached well beyond its country of origin. The color-swapping camera concept, simple as it sounds, turned out clever enough to spawn a whole family of sequels and variants.
The game was created by Jacques Zeimet, whose knack for fast, intuitive gameplay also gave rise to Bazar Bizarre 2.0 and Bazar Bizarre Junior, two sequels that reuse the same mechanic for different groups of players. The colorful illustrations that give the game its visual charm are the work of Gabriela Silveira.
