Saint Averna's Day has arrived. Once each year, the citizens of the kingdom gather in the capital city to celebrate, drink, sing, and move from tavern to tavern. In Taverna, you play an ambitious innkeeper eager to take advantage of the festivities and become the most renowned tavern owner in the realm.

Each turn, you welcome customers from the kingdom's different peoples and place them in taverns throughout the city. Every decision affects your reputation, income, and relationships with the various factions of Averna. Tavern owners earn gold, while skilled innkeepers gain popularity by satisfying the expectations of their patrons.

Success requires more than good food and drink. Through dignitaries, royal favours, privileges, and even magic, players can influence the flow of the celebration and gain strategic advantages. The demands of the Royal Court constantly evolve, encouraging players to adapt their plans throughout the game.
