Deep in the vast forest world of Everdell, a civilization of forest animals grows and thrives. All creatures struggle every year to build a new city to spend the winter! With buildings to construct, exciting characters to meet, and events to manage, a busy year awaits you.

Everdell combines a mechanic of worker placement with that of tableau construction. Play as the leader of a village that you will have the task of developing before the winter new moon.

On their turn, a player can perform one of three actions:

a) Placing a Worker: Each player has a collection of Worker pieces. These are placed on board locations, events, and Destination cards. Workers perform various actions to further the development of a player's tableau: gathering resources, drawing cards, and performing other special actions.

b) Play a card: each player builds and populates a city; an array of up to 15 Construction and Critter cards. There are five types of cards: Travelers, Production, Destination, Governance, and Prosperity. Cards generate resources (twigs, resin, pebbles, and berries), grant abilities, and ultimately score points. Card interactions reveal numerous strategies and an almost endless variety of active cities.

c) Prepare for the next season: workers are returned to the player pool and new workers are added. The game is played from winter until the start of the following winter, at which time the player with the city with the most points wins.
