The games in the L'As des jeux Bazar are pre-played games. They have been inspected by one of our game experts and are certified "Complete." You may find some minor imperfections, such as light wear on the box or on certain game components.

Set sail for the Enchanted Isles in Wizards, a fantasy strategy board game that drops players into an archipelago shaped anew by magic every time you play. The hexagonal modular board rebuilds itself differently each game: all 18 islands are placed at random around the Sacred Circle, guaranteeing a fresh adventure every session. Each player takes on a druid, a wizard, or a dragon-powered sorcerer, sailing from island to island to complete quests before the Evil Spirit strikes.

Wizards is both cooperative and competitive: if the group fails to complete ten tasks within fourteen game-days, the Evil Spirit flips an island out of play - and if the Sacred Circle itself is lost, everyone loses together. Yet individual victory is still within reach: the first player to reach the fourth level of power can then hunt down the six great wizards and sorcerers guarding the Sacred Gems, all while dodging the False Wizard who wants to steal them. Whoever gathers all six gems and reaches the center of the Sacred Circle lets the druid Ruktal cast the Spell of Spells and defeat the Evil.

You will probably love Wizards if you are drawn to enchanted isles and old-school fantasy worlds, if you are looking for a party game that blends teamwork with a race for power, and if the idea of a board that is never the same twice appeals to you. Groups of 2 to 6 players who enjoy long adventure-filled evenings packed with quests, spells, and twists will feel right at home.

When it launched in 1982, Wizards earned a warm welcome: White Dwarf magazine gave it a 7 out of 10 in September 1983, praising the box's beautiful artwork and the rulebook's evocative language, while Imagine magazine called it "a good game; long, but interesting and fun." On the box itself, Avalon Hill rated its own complexity at 6 out of 10, and the title was part of the publisher's Bookcase Game line, designed to store flat on a shelf like a book.

The game was designed by husband-and-wife team Thomas Mosbø and Coral Mosbø, who also illustrated every island, wizard, and creature on the box and board.
