Welcome to the bubbly America of the 1950s, right in the golden age of soda fountains! In Soda Jerk (FR), you put on the apron of a soda jerk determined to mix the best sodas in town, even if it means being a bit of a jerk to your opponents along the way. Each player gets a hand of ingredient cards - strawberry, blueberry, banana, kiwi, and orange - and on their turn either plays a card face down under one of the five taps or flips a card already on the table. Cards that match a tap's flavor raise its value, while mismatched cards lower it, sometimes pushing it into negative territory! Nobody truly knows a tap's final value until the very end, turning every turn into a clever mix of bluffing and speculation. Once the game ends, every card left in your hand scores (or costs) points equal to the final value of its matching tap, so you'd better hang on to the right flavors! With games clocking in around 15 minutes, this card game slides easily into a packed game night or between two heavier plays.
