In Carcassonne: Siège et Défense, the beautiful city is under siege and players must defend it by placing their meeples in strategic defense posts. New Siege symbols on Terrain tiles trigger attacks that can force players to remove their meeples if they have not contributed enough to Carcassonne’s defense.

The Fortress tiles introduce dedicated defense rows where meeples can be placed to score points, but filling a row triggers a counterattack, rewarding defenders or penalizing those who contributed the least. The addition of catapults further increases tension, as placing a tile with a Siege icon may instantly activate an attack if the catapult space is already occupied.

This expansion is perfect for you if you enjoy tactical interactions, added tension and new decision-making layers in Carcassonne. Its innovative defensive mechanisms bring a fresh twist to the classic tile-placement experience.

This updated edition features artwork by Marcel Gröber, aligning visually with the modern Carcassonne line.
