Meet the lynx, the fox, the roe deer and the red squirrel in Défis Nature Junior - Animaux de la forêt (FR)! This illustrated card battle game sends young explorers on a real safari through the woods: each card shows a photo of an animal along with its top speed and its maximum age, plus a short educational blurb about the species. To settle ties without any guesswork, players line their cards up along a graduated ruler with two levels: a first side going from 0 to 30 to get comfortable with small numbers, then a second side going from 0 to 110 for kids who are ready for bigger calculations. Each round, the card with the highest value in the chosen trait wins every card on the table, and whoever has collected the most cards at the end wins the game. An expert variant adds a twist: if a player's animal carries the red dot marking a threatened species while the opponent's animal carries a green dot, that player may flip the round by forcing a change of trait. A solo rule is also included, letting one player flip five drawn cards and try to guess which animal is the fastest or the oldest.
