The alleys of Waterdeep hide plenty of secrets, and beneath the cobblestones, an even darker world is waiting for you. This expansion for Lords of Waterdeep (FR) actually adds two complete modules: the sprawling dungeon of Undermountain, where the mad wizard Halaster carried out his magical experiments, and Skullport, the Port of Shadow, a haven for crime, shady deals and back-alley dirty tricks. Each location brings new Lords, new Buildings and new Intrigue and Quest cards. You can use just one or both together, depending on the mood you want.
The Undermountain module raises the stakes: Quests demand more Gold and more Adventurers, but the rewards match the risk. The Skullport module introduces a new resource, Corruption. Unlike Gold and Adventurers, every Corruption token in your tavern costs you victory points at the end of the game, and the penalty grows with the corruption collected by all the Lords. How far will you go to win? The expansion also adds a new faction, the Gray Hands, which welcomes a sixth player to the table.
This expansion is for you if you already know Lords of Waterdeep and want more depth, tenser decisions and new ways to sabotage your opponents. You will probably enjoy this worker placement game even more with Corruption, which forces you to choose between quick gains and a clean reputation. It will also please groups who want to play with six, or Dungeons & Dragons fans who dream of exploring the underbelly of the famous city.
Lords of Waterdeep: Scoundrels of Skullport first came out in 2013 and is offered here in its French version. It was designed by Peter Lee, Rodney Thompson and Chris Dupuis, who are also behind the base game, a classic strategy game set in the Forgotten Realms. The two modules can be combined or played separately, so you can vary your games as much as you like.
The Lords of Waterdeep base game is required to use this expansion.
