This scene was drawn by Mars Gremmen, the fourth illustrator to join Studio Jan van Haasteren, in 2021. His style, inspired by Flemish painter Pieter Bruegel the Elder, follows one simple goal: fitting a joke onto every single puzzle piece. The Bakery isn't his first hit for the series either: his very first puzzle, set in a hair salon, was already a favorite among comic jigsaw puzzle fans.
