Will Thor survive the tricks of Loki? Will the Valkyries overtake Odin? In Voluspa, inspired by the oldest poem of Norse mythology, this tile-laying game pits gods, dangerous creatures and forgotten races against each other in a struggle for dominance. Each turn, you place a tile showing one of twelve characters and creatures from the tale, then use its power to block, capture or intimidate neighboring tiles and take control of them. The player who dominates the most tiles scores the most points and wins. Since a new force rises to power every game, the story unfolds differently each time: great replayability in an easy-to-learn box.

Voluspa is for you if you love abstract games that are easy to explain but rich in decisions, where every tile placed can swing the balance of power. It suits fans of tactical two-player duels and small tables of five alike, as well as Norse mythology lovers who want to watch Thor, Fenrir and the Valkyries clash on the table.

Voluspa was a 2013 Golden Geek nominee in the Abstract Game category. It is a Norse-themed reimagining of the earlier game Kachina. The box already includes the Saga of Edda module, which adds 25 tiles to vary your games, and several expansions exist for players who want even more.

Voluspa was designed by Scott Caputo, with illustrations by Pierô, who bring the gods and creatures of Norse mythology to life.
