A strange fog blankets an arcane-punk town built entirely around the Void, a mysterious gateway between worlds from which humanity's worst nightmares emerge. In Horrified: World of Monsters, you play one of the planet's top monster experts, called in to protect the townsfolk before panic takes hold for good.

This cooperative game follows the formula that made the Horrified series a hit: each player picks a hero with unique abilities, then the whole team joins forces to defeat the monsters prowling the town's streets. Four iconic creatures await you: the riddling Sphinx and its fiendish puzzles, the reclusive Yeti lurking in the cold, the ravenous Jiangshi, and, as the grand finale, the Great Old One himself, Cthulhu. You can face them one at a time or combine several threats for an even tougher game.

Each monster brings a different challenge inspired by the legends and folklore surrounding it: solving puzzles, gathering item tokens, protecting citizens, and dodging attacks, all while watching the terror level climb across town. Cthulhu's arrival also introduces a first for the series: a two-phase puzzle, with one part unfolding in World of Monsters and the other squarely inside Cthulhu's own realm. The box also includes rules for mixing its monsters with those from Horrified: Greek Monsters, so you can vary your games endlessly.

Horrified: World of Monsters is for you if you love cooperative games where the whole team wins or loses together, if a theme built around monsters and legends from around the world gets you hooked, and if you want a modular game that changes every time depending on which creatures you face. Fans of group puzzle-solving and rising tension from one game to the next will feel right at home.

Horrified: World of Monsters is the fifth standalone box in the Horrified series launched by Ravensburger in 2019, and the first to introduce a two-phase showdown against its final monster, Cthulhu. The game also combines with Horrified: Greek Monsters to mix creatures from both boxes and build your own custom scenarios.

This adventure was designed by Peter Lee and Michael Mulvihill, the duo behind the entire Horrified series, including Horrified: Universal Monsters and Horrified: American Monsters.
