In Tides of Time, two rival civilization-builders race across the ages, drafting and passing cards to raise monuments, fortresses, and libraries before their empire eventually collapses. This card drafting game for two players unfolds over three rounds: each turn you pick one card to keep in your kingdom, then hand off the rest of your cards to your opponent. Every card carries its own combination of suits and scoring conditions, so the exact same card can be worth a handful of points or completely swing the game depending on the kingdom you have built around it. At the end of each round, a Relic of the Past stays anchored in your kingdom for the rest of the game, adding a layer of long-term planning to this micro-game that still wraps up in about twenty minutes.

Tides of Time is for you if you love tight, tense two-player duels where every card drawn becomes a real dilemma: keep it for yourself or hand it to your opponent before they can use it against you. The game slips easily into a backpack or onto the corner of a table, perfect for a quick match between rounds of a longer game or to close out a game night for two.

With more than 7,700 ratings and a spot among the top 2,000 highest-rated games on BoardGameGeek, Tides of Time has earned a solid reputation among fans of strategic card games. Its success even spawned a standalone sequel, Tides of Madness, which reuses the same drafting system in a completely different setting, proof that this small card game's formula struck a chord.

The game was designed by Croatian designer Kristian Curla, who also created Tides of Madness, the sequel that shares Tides of Time's drafting and discarding DNA while exploring a whole different theme. Published in English by Edge Entertainment, this little two-player gem keeps winning over fans of short, clever games.
