Welcome to the heart of the little village of unruly Gauls! Petits Chevaux Asterix - The Gaul (FR) takes the beloved classic race game and dresses it up with the characters and colors from the very first Asterix album, published in 1961. On an illustrated board where Asterix, Obelix, Dogmatix and the whole gang cross paths with Roman legionaries, each player races four pawns from the stable all the way to victory, one roll of the dice at a time.
The rules stay exactly the ones everyone already knows and loves: get your pawns out of the stable, move around the board, send opposing pawns back to the stable by landing on them, and bring your four horses home before everyone else. Easy to learn and powered by the luck of the dice, this family board game is just as perfect for a game night with friends as for a rainy afternoon with the kids.
Petits Chevaux Asterix - The Gaul is for you if you are looking for a game that is easy to pull out with the kids, if you grew up with the Asterix comic books and love revisiting that universe around the table, or if you simply want to reconnect with a classic family party game, Gaulish style.
Asterix le Gaulois, the album that inspired this game, is the very first adventure of the little Gaul, published in October 1961: the start of a saga that has since sold more than 380 million copies, translated into more than 100 languages. The petits chevaux race game itself comes from a family of race games that is centuries old, related to Ludo and Pachisi, which makes it an endlessly enduring classic in all its forms.
The visual world of this game comes straight from the duo behind Asterix: writer Rene Goscinny and illustrator Albert Uderzo, who brought the little Gaulish village to life starting in 1959. If you love this universe, you will find the same unruly Gauls in other games like Asterix & Compagnie or Difference: Asterix.
