In Die Patin, the streets of Beasty Town are ruled by rival underground families fighting for influence, prestige, and control. Every district is contested territory, and only the most cunning boss will rise to dominate the city.
Players take on the role of powerful mafia leaders commanding gangs of loyal henchmen across the city. Through careful positioning, clever timing, and ruthless expansion, players attempt to seize neighborhoods while protecting their own criminal empire from rival attacks. Beneath its humorous animal-mafia setting lies a deeply interactive strategy board game focused on territory control and tactical planning.
The game’s core system revolves around influence and area majority. Players use rats placed around the city’s manholes to establish power in nearby areas, creating tense territorial struggles where every placement matters. Expanding into new districts grants access to loot, businesses, and prestige points, but every successful conquest also paints a target on your back.
Intrigue cards add another layer of strategy each round. Your boss lady can launch invasions, manipulate districts, or efficiently manage your territory depending on the ability selected. Because of the constant player interaction and shifting control of the city, every game develops differently and rewards long-term tactical thinking.
With its anthropomorphic animal theme, stylish artwork, and combination of area control, influence, and strategic confrontation, Die Patin delivers a rich and highly interactive experience for fans of modern strategy games and competitive tactical gameplay.
You will probably enjoy Die Patin if you like highly interactive area-control games with shifting alliances, tactical positioning, and clever opportunistic play. It is especially appealing for players who enjoy indirect conflict and tense territorial competition.
Designed by Pim Thunborg and illustrated by Alexander Jung, Die Patin combines accessible rules with surprising strategic depth. Its unique mafia-animal atmosphere gives the game a strong personality while offering excellent replayability thanks to dynamic board setups and constant player interaction.
