In Watergate, the Nixon Administration attempts to cover up the burgeoning Democratic Party wiretapping scandal, even as Washington Post reporters gradually track down informants to the President. Two sides, an asymmetrical duel.

Watergate is an asymmetrical strategy game for two players. One of the players embodies the press, while his opponent embodies the Nixon administration, each with a deck of cards of their own. A nervous accessible strategy game!

Each card allows players to activate a specific action or the possibility of manipulating several elements (Evidence, Initiative or Momentum tokens) on the game board, towards the journalists or the White House towards the journalists or the House White, like a tug of war. The final position of each token, at the end of the round, will determine their use by each side. It is up to the players to determine which strategy they wish to favor: gaining initiative, managing evidence or gaining Momentum (allowing Nixon to win). The actions make it possible in particular to recruit informants, reveal evidence and thus create connections between the key figures in the scandal. The Nixon player can recruit conspirators and destroy evidence, thus blocking the connections created by the journalist. To win, Nixon must reach the end of the presidential term by earning 5 Momentum Tokens, while the reporter must gather enough evidence to link at least two informants directly to the president.

Watergate is a tense tactical game that challenges players to make tough strategic choices to reach their victory conditions before the opponent. With its theme completely permeated in the game, it allows you to create epic duels against a backdrop of political scandal.
