Vintage Toy Collection (1000pcs)

Against a midnight-blue background flecked with fine snow-like dots, the box unveils a shop window straight out of another era. At the centre, a boy dressed in a navy-blue coat trimmed with gold braid and brass buttons stands beside a girl in a peach-pink dress with a white collar, her blonde hair braided and a flower tucked behind her ear. Beside them looms a generous white polar bear, wearing a red knit hat and wrapped in a plaid scarf, surrounded by small stuffed toys dressed for winter, including a rabbit in a striped outfit and cap. To the right, a burgundy-and-gold vintage toy train with delicately detailed wheels lets two white rabbits peek out from a car window. All around, three moustached wooden nutcracker soldiers stand guard in white-and-gold uniforms, brass lanterns glow softly, a red-and-white striped hot air balloon floats near a small green dollhouse, and a seated stuffed dog in a bow tie completes this old-fashioned toy shop. Behind the group, a row of pastel-coloured miniature facades traces a tiny toy town fading into this wintry, storybook world, under a scatter of silvery snowflakes.

This 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle is part of a series of nostalgic scenes built around bygone worlds. Putting the pieces together also makes for a relaxing moment, known to calm the mind and sharpen focus, one wooden soldier and one train wheel at a time.

This scene is signed by Anie Maltais, the Quebec artist behind the Delfy line, known for colourful, heartfelt compositions that tell a story at a glance.
