Tresoro turns the table into a beach full of surprises, where every card you pick might reveal a valuable find... or something less rewarding than expected. All cards are spread out with their sand side showing, and the clues are deliberately misleading: a crab may look like a gem, and a seashell might be mistaken for a gold coin. That simple idea creates immediate excitement, making this a lively observation game from beginning to end.
On your turn, you can only take a card that is covered, even partially, by another card. That means you need to scan the beach carefully, read the visual clues, and choose the right spot to dig. Most cards are placed in front of you treasure side up, but chests stay hidden until the end of the game, which keeps the suspense going right through final scoring. With its quick setup and easy-to-grasp decisions, Tresoro delivers an accessible and satisfying family game experience.
The scoring system encourages players to collect smartly instead of grabbing cards at random. Gold coins are worth 1 point each, seashells are worth nothing, a ruby and sapphire pair scores 4 points, the player with the most crabs earns 3 points, and the sandcastle is worth 5 points. Special item cards add a fun extra twist: the fishing rod lets you steal from another player, while the shovel helps you claim the sandcastle. For a kids card game in this format, the design feels remarkably clean and clever.
Tresoro is for you if you want a quick game to play with children aged 5 and up, something that can be taught in minutes, sharpens visual attention without adding rules overhead, and still keeps adults involved thanks to its bluffing feel and opportunistic choices. It is a great pick for families who enjoy short rounds, playful reversals, and games where looking closely matters.
One of the most interesting things about Tresoro is its deceptive visual language: the whole game plays on the resemblance between what seems to be hidden in the sand and the actual treasures underneath. That makes it especially well suited to younger players. The pace also stays short, with each player collecting only 8 cards before the game ends, making it easy to play again right away.
Designed by Élodie Clément and Théo Rivière, with illustrations by Elgraph Studio, Tresoro relies on a clear, playful, and expressive presentation. The beach setting, colourful treasures, and easy-to-read visual cues make every turn simple to follow, even for children who are still discovering the basics of a modern card game.
