The scene unfolds right in the heart of Leicester Square, London, in front of the ornate facade of the famous Hippodrome, its sign proudly announcing Talk of the Town. In the foreground, an iconic red telephone box stands on the corner, while a uniformed police officer keeps watch nearby, surrounded by a flock of pigeons pecking at the pavement. A black London taxi and a red double-decker bus cross paths on the street below strings of Union Jack bunting stretched between the buildings. Colorfully dressed passersby wander past the neighboring shop windows, a couple zips by on a scooter, and an ornate street lamp rounds out this lively, detail-packed urban scene.

This jigsaw puzzle captures the atmosphere of a bygone era of the British capital with real precision. The building shown in the background is not invented: the actual Hippodrome in Leicester Square, which opened in 1900, became the celebrated Talk of the Town cabaret-restaurant in 1958, hosting renowned performers for more than two decades. That touch of real history gives the illustration its authentic flavor.

This artwork carries the signature of artist Daniel Rodgers, known for his nostalgic street scenes packed with characters and details to discover. The 1000 pieces are cut from quality recycled cardboard with a linen-finish paper, and packed in an eco-friendly paper bag.

Dimensions of the completed puzzle: 68 x 49 cm
