Behind a pink-striped storefront lies a book cafe where time seems to slow down. A tall arched window lets in the daylight along with a view of a blossoming cherry tree, a quiet street, and a little van rolling by in the distance. A string of fairy lights outlines the top of the window, while a hanging plant and two tall bookshelves overflowing with colorful books complete the decor, dotted with small framed pictures (a heart, a bicycle, a curious fox) and a wall clock. At the counter, an espresso machine and a stovetop coffee maker are hard at work as a barista serves a customer. All around, about a dozen regulars enjoy the cozy atmosphere: a reader perched on a wooden ladder searches for a title up high, a customer admires a small poster, a woman settled into an armchair savors her coffee while reading, another cuddles a big blond dog sitting beside her, while a corgi naps on a pink rug in the foreground next to a forgotten backpack. Everything is bathed in a palette of powder pink, brick red, and warm wood tones.

This 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle belongs to Holiyay's collection of scenes signed by independent illustrators, where every box tells a charming slice of life. The grid cut and matte cardboard finish make for a pleasant build, with no glare getting in the way of spotting the details to discover.
