*French version
Under the glow of a hanging lamp, a crowd of googly-eyed, crooked-toothed creatures jostle to bite the hook. Welcome to the wacky world of Tcherno (FR), a fast-paced game that tests your observation skills as much as your ability to bluff your opponents. Each round lasts barely 30 seconds: just enough time to spot the mutant fish that share a common trait (a color, a number of eyes, a fin shape) before the timer runs out. But the real battle happens elsewhere: by combining speed, deduction and a bit of cunning, you also have to crack the mystery of the cards your rivals are hiding in order to unmask their fish before they unmask yours.
The charm of Tcherno lies in this unlikely mix of fast-paced observation game and light deduction game, two mechanics that collide to create matches that are as short as they are lively. You laugh at the ridiculous faces of these aquatic monsters, you yelp when an opponent grabs the right card before you do, and you are already setting up another round before the last one is even finished.
Tcherno (FR) is for you if you are looking for a board game that plays in just a few minutes, gets the whole table laughing, and rewards a sharp eye just as much as sharp logic. It is a great fit for family game nights or larger groups thanks to its generous player count, and its simple rules let even the youngest players jump in from the very first round.
Interesting fact: few party games manage to pair an ultra-fast observation phase with a genuine deduction mechanic built around opponents' cards. It is this double layer that makes you want to launch Tcherno again and again, with everyone trying to both spot fast and read the table.
The game is designed by Quebec creator Pierre Bourque and distributed by Ludik Quebec, which offers several party games built for family nights or get-togethers with friends.
