*French version
In Ruckus (FR), everyone plays at the same time, and that's exactly what makes every round completely wild. This real-time card game puts your reflexes and observation skills to the test: nobody waits their turn here, as each player draws, builds matching sets of identical cards, and keeps an eye on everyone else's piles to snatch a set at just the right moment. To steal a card, you simply shout its name out loud - "Woof woof!" for the dog, "Ahoy!" for the pirate - and the card instantly changes hands. Laughter, shouting, and a healthy dose of controlled chaos take over the table within seconds. As soon as a player empties their hand, they slap the draw pile and yell "RUCKUS!" to end the round; play then continues until someone reaches 50 points. Easy to learn but impossible to play quietly, it's a party game that electrifies a family dinner or a night with friends in just a few minutes.
Ruckus (FR) is for you if you love games where boldness and quick reflexes matter more than deep strategy, where the whole family - from the youngest to the oldest - can play at the same time without ever waiting a turn. Do you love game nights that are as much about laughing as playing, where shouting a little (a lot) is actually encouraged? This fast and loud game is made for you.
Ruckus isn't a newcomer: the game has been around since 2005 and is still being reprinted and sold around the world two decades later, a sign of its staying power. On BoardGameGeek, Ruckus stands out for a mechanic combination that's fairly rare among family games: a set-collection game blended with real-time play, where absolutely nobody waits their turn to act.
American designer Dan Levy is behind Ruckus's frantic mechanics, brought to life by illustrator Edoul (Edouard Didelot), whose colorful, slightly wacky art style fits the game's spirit perfectly. Reissued by Blue Orange, Ruckus remains a classic quick game to pull out anytime, a staple with the family for years.
