*French version
From the void between dimensions, an ancient cosmic entity emerged, corrupting and devouring everything in its path. In the wake of the cataclysm known as Voidfall, the last admirals of the fallen Domineum empire forged a desperate plan: retrofit the Revenant (FR), a former imperial flagship, to carry humanity's accumulated knowledge far from the Voidborn threat. In Revenant, you play one of these rival admirals, tasked with escorting the fleeing fleet to safety beyond the known galaxy while juggling fragile alliances and your own political ambitions.
This expert strategy game drops you into a tense worker placement experience where every crew assignment truly matters. Across four rounds, you assign your crew throughout the fleeing starfleet to fight corrupted ships, explore planets for resources, upgrade your vessel, and recruit new crew, all while gaining influence with the Great Houses you choose to protect. The journey will not be easy: the Voidborn's corrupted forces strike the fleet at the end of every round, forcing you to repair damaged ships, destroy attackers, or activate the Revenant's hyperdrive to flee to a safer sector. Whatever you do, there will be losses: it is up to you to decide which Houses deserve your protection.
You will probably love Revenant if you crave meaty resource management games where every decision carries real weight, and science fiction settings where the fate of thousands rests on your choices. Fans of demanding euro games and politically charged, multi-layered scenarios will find a challenge worthy of their expectations.
Well received on BoardGameGeek with an average rating hovering around 7.9 out of 10 shortly after release, Revenant also carries a very high complexity rating, confirming its status as a game for experienced players. The game relies on an original system of hidden influence cards and secret agendas that reshape shifting alliances from round to round, a twist that keeps every admiral rethinking their plans. Dedicated fans can also look forward to the Reason and Faith expansion, which adds two independent modules for even more variety.
Revenant was designed by Danish game designer Allan Kirkeby, while its striking artwork comes from the talented Ian O'Toole, also recognized for his work on acclaimed games like Teotihuacan and Trickerion. His distinctive visual style instantly sets the dark, epic tone of the space adventure ahead.
