- In stock, ready to ship
Arkitec's 3D puzzle Los Angeles turns a classic build into a real little architecture project: once completed, it takes the shape of a retro television whose screen lights up to reveal the City of Angels in full swing. On this miniature scene sit the city's must-sees side by side: the hill topped by the Griffith Observatory and its Astronomers Monument, the landmark Capitol Records tower, and the entrance arch of Universal Studios Hollywood. Below, the Hollywood sign stands out on the hillside, while a red trolley, palm trees, and a rolling wave carrying its surfer bring in the laid-back feel of the coast.
The puzzle stands out for its color-changing LED lights, which cycle the scene from sunrise to sunset for a striking glow once night falls. Assembly needs no glue thanks to 105 press-fit wooden pieces, designed to snap together easily even for a first three-dimensional puzzle. Two AA batteries, not included, are all it takes to power the lighting.
The full build takes about an hour and a half, a great way to spend some screen-free time with friends or family. Once finished, the mini diorama becomes a display piece for a shelf or a desk, still calling up the charm of Sunset Boulevard, the neon of Randy's Donuts, and the buzz of Rodeo Drive long after the last piece is snapped in. This Los Angeles puzzle is part of Arkitec's CityVision collection, which reimagines the world's biggest cities as glowing skylines.
