Fashion Shoot, Gobel/Knorr (2000 pcs)
- Low stock - 1 item left
An ancient forum turns into an open-air fashion studio. Between half-crumbled, centuries-old columns and a weathered stone obelisk, a dense crowd of onlookers, vendors and curious passersby gathers to watch an unusual photo shoot. At the centre of the commotion, models in dazzling gowns strike a pose on a blue-draped platform flanked by two large golden sun-shaped ornaments, while photographers and assistants bustle around tripods, umbrella lights and huge white reflector panels. All around the scene, passersby climb stone stairs, dogs weave between legs, and vine-covered columns rise toward a golden late-afternoon sky, true to the crowded style of this 2000-piece jigsaw puzzle where every corner hides a new little character to discover.
This jigsaw puzzle playfully pairs two worlds that could not be more different: ancient ruins and the glamour of a modern-day fashion shoot, a bold contrast that gives the whole scene its signature charm. Like most 2000-plus-piece puzzles in Heye's Cartoon collection, Fashion Shoot ships in a collectible triangular box, a distinctive shape that stands out on any shelf. The Gobel/Knorr duo has illustrated several other equally busy scenes for Heye, inviting puzzlers to linger over a multitude of details and hidden little stories.
The artists behind this image, Doro Gobel and Peter Knorr, met in Mainz while studying art; the couple now lives in Nierstein am Rhein with their two daughters. Peter Knorr has illustrated many children's books, including covers for authors such as Erich Kastner and Kirsten Boie, while Doro Gobel co-creates acclaimed picture books with him, honoured in the German "most beautiful books" competition (Die schoensten deutschen Buecher). That same eye for lively, detailed scenes carries over into this puzzle, published by German puzzle maker Heye.
