Monza (ML)

Take your place at the starting line: in Monza, six little wooden cars line up for a high-speed racing game where only the best dice rolls get you moving forward. On your turn, roll all six colored dice and compare them to the colors of the spaces right ahead of your car: a matching color lets you move ahead one space, while non-matching dice are set aside until your next turn. Thanks to 20 track pieces that build a brand new modular track, the course changes every single game, with tight curves and straightaways to navigate cleverly. There is no going back: you need to combine your dice wisely to climb the ranks faster than your rivals and be first to cross the finish line.

Monza is for you if you love fast dice games where luck meets small strategic choices every turn. If racing on a track that gets rebuilt differently every game makes you want to play again right away, you'll have a blast with this one. It's also perfect for a first family game night: by matching their car to the dice colors, kids practice color recognition and fine motor skills while having a ton of fun.

Monza has been racing across tables since 2000 without losing an ounce of its appeal to young drivers: the game was even a finalist for the Japan Boardgame Prize, in the U-more category, in 2009. This refreshed edition relies on a fully modular board made of 20 pieces, so no two races ever look the same and the dice-placement strategy always stays fresh.

Monza was designed by Jürgen P. Grunau, known for family games built for young children, with colorful illustrations by Maïa Zeidan.
