On November 30, 1803, the United States purchased Louisiana from Napoleon, and President Jefferson sent Meriwether Lewis and William Clark to explore this huge terra incognita. In Lewis & Clark, you lead your own expedition across the North American continent with a single goal: reach the Pacific coast before everyone else. This strategy board game is a true race where only first place counts.

Each character in your hand lets you gather resources, move along the route or ask the Native Americans for help. To activate a card, you must pair it with a Force, supplied by another card or by a Native American ally. You recruit new characters to grow your crew, but a bigger hand cycles back more slowly. At camp, you take your played cards back, but beware: carrying too many resources or welcoming too many allies can cost you the lead you worked so hard to earn. This hand-building system fits the historical theme beautifully.

You will likely enjoy Lewis & Clark if you appreciate demanding racing games, action optimization and games where every decision counts. It plays 1 to 5 players, with rules for solo play.

Lewis & Clark won the Tric Trac d'Argent in 2014 and was a finalist for the As d'Or - Game of the Year in 2014. Its dual-use card system, where one card must mobilize another to act, delivers new combinations every game.

The game was designed by Cédrick Chaboussit and illustrated by Vincent Dutrait, whose evocative style brings the explorers, rivers and sweeping landscapes of the American West to life.
