King of Tokyo: Godzilla Edition (EN)

Godzilla finally storms into King of Tokyo: Godzilla, a complete and standalone edition built around six of Toho's most iconic kaiju. Take control of Godzilla, King Ghidorah, Hedorah, Rodan, Mothra, or Mechagodzilla and roll the dice to bank Energy, heal your wounds, or smash your rivals. Every turn gives you three rolls to choose between victory points, attacks, and healing, the same push-your-luck dice system that made the series famous. This edition introduces a brand-new mechanic: Event cards, which shake up the game by affecting every monster the moment they are revealed on the market. The 48 included Evolution cards, eight per monster, add a healthy dose of asymmetry and strategy for groups who want to push the experience further. Whether you camp out in Tokyo to rack up extra points or hang back to heal, every choice brings you closer to victory, either by reaching 20 victory points or by being the last kaiju standing.

King of Tokyo: Godzilla is for you if you love fast-paced dice games, the over-the-top energy of kaiju movies, and game nights that end in laughter around the table. Matches run about 30 minutes, a perfect pace for rematch after rematch with friends or family, and interaction stays constant since any monster can attack any other monster at any time.

This edition marks a first: it is the first time Toho's Godzilla license officially meets the King of Tokyo universe, with artwork that pays tribute to the Showa era of kaiju films (1954-1975), the black-and-white classics that started it all. King of Tokyo: Godzilla does not require any other box to play: it is a standalone game, a great entry point for kaiju fans and series regulars alike.

The game is designed by Richard Garfield, the mind behind Magic: The Gathering, RoboRally, and the entire King of Tokyo series, with artwork by Markus Erdt, who has also illustrated several other entries in the franchise.
