Slip into the flamboyant boots of a wizard and discover Hocus, a card game that turns classic poker into a true duel of magic. Around the table, players share one or more Communities of cards while keeping their personal Pockets secret, all in the hope of building the best possible hand. On your turn, you cast one spell from three basic options: feed the Community, fill the Pot, or build your Pocket. Things heat up with eight spellbooks of advanced magic, each granting your wizard unique powers to bend the flow of cards. Since several Communities and Pots can be active at once, timing is everything: trigger a Duel at just the right moment and claim the pot before your rivals do.

Hocus is for you if you love bluffing card games where every hand feels like a poker match dipped in fantasy. Strategy fans who enjoy calculating the odds while reading their opponents will feel right at home, and so will anyone looking for a quick tabletop game to pull out with seasoned gaming buddies.

Funded on Kickstarter, Hocus was designed to recreate the tension of a poker night without any real magic required. Its asymmetric powers, spread across eight distinct spellbooks, let each wizard play a different style from game to game, keeping the experience fresh even after several game nights.

The game is designed by Joshua Buergel and Grant Rodiek, the latter also behind Farmageddon and Cry Havoc, two titles well loved by fans of competitive card games. The flamboyant wizard-bird artwork comes from Tiffany Turrill, giving the game its distinctive tarot-inspired style.
