Go Forth, JvH (1000 pcs)

This 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle by Jan van Haasteren drops you into a dusty mechanical workshop where absolutely nothing goes according to plan. A crew of mechanics in matching blue coveralls swarms around a towering wooden rig cobbled together from scaffolding and pulleys, while one coworker perched way up top tries his best to keep it under control. Down on the floor, a good dozen small orange handcarts, built from scrap wheels and boards, are being pushed, tested, and occasionally crashed by workers who are more determined than organized. On the left, one unlucky fellow dives head-first off a ladder, right above a bathtub where a colleague is taking an improvised bath in the middle of the chaos. A foreman in a brown robe watches it all with a distinctly unimpressed look, standing near a cracked brick wall marked with a blunt skull-and-crossbones warning. As always with Jan van Haasteren, every corner of the scene hides another gag, another distracted character, or another disaster waiting to happen.
On the box, the puzzle's title changes with the language: "Go Forth!" in English, but also "Karren maar!" in Dutch, a direct nod to the wooden handcarts wreaking havoc across the scene. The box also includes a poster of the full picture, handy for keeping track of every little character, and it is made from 100% recycled cardboard.
The artist behind all this mayhem is Jan van Haasteren, a Dutch illustrator who has built a career on crowded, gag-filled scenes that keep puzzlers hunting for the next joke. Go Forth! belongs to the Oldtimers collection, a throwback to the artist's earliest puzzles; fans of his chaotic worlds will find the same energy in titles like The Bachelor or The Magic Fair.
