Two suns scorch the sands of Solara, and your companion Larna, a young dune nomad, has vanished before you could set out. In Fragments: Solara (FR), you search for her at the foot of a strange tower, in a desert swept by storms. There is no board and no deck to draw from: the adventure builds itself before your eyes with large jigsaw-style pieces that you observe, rotate, connect and flip to move the story forward.

Each piece shows a piece of landscape, an object or a character. An empty watering can placed under a tap can fill up, a ladder can lean against a wall, and several pieces can form a trap or reveal a passage. Outlines are not enough: you have to figure out why two pieces should come together. Every logical connection triggers an action, and symbols send you to the adventure booklet to discover what happens next. This cooperative narrative game plays solo or with up to four, with no turn order and no timer, and a built-in tutorial teaches the controls as you play. If you get stuck, a solutions booklet comes to the rescue.

Solara is a complete, standalone adventure of about 90 minutes: no other box is required. Nothing is destroyed or written on during play, so you can put the pieces back in their sheets to relive the story or share it with another group.

Fragments: Solara (FR) is for you if you enjoy puzzle games and escape games at home, screen-free point-and-click adventures, observation and deduction. It works well solo, as a couple or with teens, and it suits players 12 and up who want a story they build with their own hands.

Fragments: Solara is the entry point of a brand-new line of narrative games, designed as an introduction to this universe. The system was created by Yohan Servais, designer of several titles in the Unlock! and Guilty series, and the sun-drenched world is illustrated by Noemie Chevalier.
