As with Dixit: Quest, Dixit 3 is an expansion for Dixit with 84 new cards that feature fantastical and surreal artwork. These cards can be used with base game components to provide more variety or used to play the Dixit game on their own. (Dixit 3 doesn't include a scoring board or tokens, so you need to track those things and create your own voting tokens.)

As for the game in Dixit, each turn a player assumes the role of Storyteller, choosing a card from their hand, then telling a story, singing a ditty, or doing something they think is associated with the card played. Each other player then chooses a card from their own hand and gives it to the storyteller in secret. These cards are shuffled and revealed, then the players vote on which card the storyteller played. If no one or everyone votes for the storyteller, then they receive no points; if he received some votes but not all the votes, he scores according to the number of votes received. Each player who submitted a correct vote or received a vote on their card submission also scores. After a certain number of rounds, the player with the most points wins.
