Disney Villainous: Disney Villainous: Success At Any Cost (EN)

In Disney Villainous: Success at Any Cost, two double-crossers join the series: Prince Hans, the charming prince turned traitor from Frozen, and Ernesto de la Cruz, the music idol with a well-kept secret from Coco. This standalone expansion throws you into a two player duel, each villain with their own kingdom board, Villain deck, and Fate deck. On your turn, you move your mover to a new location, play Ally, Item, Effect, and Condition cards to activate the actions available there, then refill your hand back up to four cards. One of the sneakiest actions lets you draw from your opponent's Fate deck and place a hero, item, or effect directly on their board to sabotage their plans.

Prince Hans must place his Frozen Ring tokens on the actions of his kingdom until Arendelle is completely frozen over, flipping his board to its winter side; he then has to defeat Anna and Elsa in a fully frozen location to win. Ernesto de la Cruz, meanwhile, must flip all six Photo cards so only his own star poster remains visible, wiping out the Rivera family photo through Villain cards and by moving Miguel toward his Allies. Two villains, two very different ways to betray everyone, for a duel full of pettiness to savor with friends or with series regulars.

Success at Any Cost is for you if you already have your usual Disney Villainous plans down and want a new pair of villains to play head to head. It is also a great entry point into the series, since the expansion plays perfectly well on its own, no other box required, for a quick two player showdown. If you love characters who hide their true face until the very last moment, this pair of traitors should be right up your alley.

Fun fact: Prince Hans and Ernesto de la Cruz are both what fans call twist villains, characters first presented as allies or heroes before revealing their true nature near the end of their film. This is the first time two twist villains share the same Disney Villainous box.

This expansion was designed by Michael Mulvihill, who took over the Villainous system and who also designed Star Wars Villainous: Scum and Villainy and the Marvel Villainous: We Are Venom expansion. The artwork for both new villains was created by Yuri Cameirana and John Morrow.

Success at Any Cost plays entirely on its own for 2 players, but Prince Hans and Ernesto de la Cruz can also face off against the villains from the base game Disney Villainous: The Worst Takes It All and the series' other expansions for bigger showdowns.
