Brindamour was a dragon. A big, real one, with pink scales, claws, huge wings and a cave on the west side of Mount Grondeur. He had everything it took to be scary. Except one thing: his breath.
Other dragons breathed fire, acid or ice. Brindamour breathed mint. A cool cloud, pink and white, that smelled like a paparmane (a Quebec peppermint candy). When he roared at a knight, the knight closed his eyes, took a deep breath and said: “Ahhh. That feels good.”
(The Dungeon Master, from behind the screen: The dragon uses its breath weapon. Roll a Dexterity save. The result doesn’t matter. You now have perfect breath for the rest of the day.)
Knights came to fight him just to breathe. Villagers brought him their uncles after garlic suppers. One day, a lady came with her husband and said: “He had onion soup. Do something.” Brindamour was humiliated. He wanted to be terrifying.
Then came the great Garlic and Onion Festival at the Thirsty Dwarf tavern. Three days of onion soup, garlic bread and spicy sausages. After two evenings, nobody dared to talk to each other anymore. Couples sulked. The bard sang while holding his nose. The whole tavern was on the verge of civil war.
They called Brindamour. He stuck his head through the window and breathed. Hard. A huge pink and white cloud filled the tavern. Everyone started laughing, talking, hugging. Brindamour sneezed with pride, and seven round mint candies, engraved like paparmanes, rolled onto the counter. They had become as hard as dice.
(The Dungeon Master, with a smirk: Brindamour is now invited to every festival. He has a contract. He’s paid in sugar. He says he’s terrifying. Nobody contradicts him, out of politeness.)
The Paparmane dice were born. Pink and white like grandma’s peppermint candies, engraved with swirling patterns, they’re perfect for friendly dragons, refreshing players and every table with a little too much garlic pizza.
With their pink and white acrylic and raised engraved patterns, these polyhedral dice are perfect for your Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder or any roleplaying game (RPG). A dice set as fresh as a peppermint.
