Maya l'abeille Dice - 7D Set

Maya was a bee from the Saint-Glinglin apiary. A real worker: up before the sun, stripes perfectly straight, wings spotless. She had just one problem, and it was a big one for a bee. She was allergic to flowers.

As soon as she came near a daisy, she sneezed. A sunflower? Runny eyes. A field of lavender? She ended up on the ground, swollen like a little yellow and black balloon. The other bees came back loaded with pollen. Maya came back with tissues.

The queen was starting to ask questions. So one morning, Maya followed a different smell. Not a flower. Something warm, buttery, sweet. She flew in through the window of the bakery of Ernest, the dwarf baker of Saint-Glinglin. The one who sells his chocolate croissants by the dozen, never thirteen, ever since a very bad experience with a mimic.

Every morning there was a thirteenth croissant left over that Ernest refused to sell but didn’t dare throw out. It stressed him out. Maya landed on it and took a taste. No sneezing. No swelling. Just happiness. She came back the next day. And the day after. Ernest, relieved, now left the thirteenth on the windowsill for her.

Maya’s honey tasted like chocolate croissants. The queen tasted it, closed her eyes and declared it the hive’s official honey. A few drops, forgotten on the sunny windowsill, hardened into seven little yellow dice, clear as honey, with numbers as white as icing sugar.

(The Dungeon Master, with a smirk: Ernest finally sleeps well. For the first time in ten years, the thirteenth croissant disappears every morning without causing any damage. He suspects a curse. He has decided not to ask questions.)
