Léviathan Dice - 7D Set

Pompon was a leviathan. A sea serpent so gigantic that one day, two hundred years ago, he had stopped for a nap… and an island had grown on his back. Grass. Trees. Then houses. Today, Île-Dodue has three hundred inhabitants, a bakery, a school, a church steeple and a very serious mayor.

Nobody on the island knew it was alive. Pompon didn’t dare move anymore. He didn’t want to bother anyone. For two hundred years he’d had an itch in the middle of his back. Right under the bakery.

(The Dungeon Master, checking their notes: You walk across Île-Dodue. The ground has a little hiccup. The mayor’s soup spills over. The locals say it’s “the wind.” It isn’t the wind.)

Pompon’s dream was to swim. Just once. Dive, do somersaults, chase dolphins for fun. But every time he thought about it, he pictured the bakery underwater, and he held back.

One morning, a little girl fell off the dock and started to sink. Pompon didn’t think. He dove. The entire island disappeared under the sea for three seconds. Three hundred people, the bakery, the school, the mayor. Then it all came back up, soaking wet, in a huge spray of blue and white foam. The little girl was sitting on the steeple, safe and sound.

There was a long silence. The mayor, dripping, took off his hat full of water. Then the baker said: “We’ve wanted a beach for years.”

(The Dungeon Master, with a smirk: On Sundays now, Pompon goes for a swim. The locals put on their swimsuits. The bakery closes from 10 to noon. The mayor passed a law. He voted for it.)

The foam from that first dive had frozen in the air, into seven dice swirled with blue and white, with numbers as golden as the sun on the sea. The Léviathan dice were born.
