Le glaive Dice - 7D Set

Soline was a cleric at the Temple of the Rising Sun. She had been trained by Sister Bénédicte, the paladin who once blessed a mimic (it became very devout). Soline had learned her lesson. Too well. She blessed everything. Doors. Horses. Sandwiches. Her adventuring party’s socks, every morning, one by one.

The problem was, her blessings worked. Blessed bread glowed in the dark. Blessed boots refused to walk in mud. Blessed socks didn’t smell at all anymore, which, honestly, was a good thing.

(The Dungeon Master, from behind the screen: Soline blesses your sword. She also blesses your helmet, your water flask and your horse. Your horse is glowing. He’s very proud. He now refuses to eat ordinary hay.)

One day, she blessed the party fighter’s sword, a great glaive he’d had forever. The glaive became so holy it refused to touch anything that wasn’t pure Evil. It refused to cut rope. To slice bread. To open a can. The fighter spent his days fighting with his sword instead of fighting with his sword.

Then the party faced a lich, a real one, a thousand years of pure wickedness. The fighter raised his glaive. For the first time, the sword said yes. A sunbeam burst from the blade, so bright that the lich disintegrated, the cave lit up and everyone got a sunburn.

When the light died down, seven drops of sunrise had fallen to the ground. Yellow, orange, clear, with a little copper sun inside each one. Seven dice.

(The Dungeon Master, writing it down in their notebook: Soline blessed the dice. They now refuse to land on a 1. Well… almost never. Even a blessed die needs a break.)
