Jack went to the market to sell the family cow. He came back with a handful of beans. His mother was not pleased.

We know the rest: the beans grew up to the sky, there was a giant, a goose that laid golden eggs and a lot of yelling. But what the fairy tales forget to mention is that there was one bean left in Jack’s pocket.

Jack ate it.
