Philibert was a gelatinous cube. He lived in the exam dungeon under the Academy of Magic, where first-year students come to prove they can defend themselves. His job: slide through the corridors and swallow everything he came across. He hated it.
Philibert dreamed of being a dessert. “Everybody loves desserts,” he said. “Nobody runs away screaming from a dessert.”
(The Dungeon Master, checking their notes: The cube slowly approaches. He has put a cherry on his head. Roll Insight. Yes. He’s trying to look appetizing.)
He tried everything. He sat on a plate in the cafeteria with a sign that said “Dessert of the Day.” The students ran away screaming. He swallowed an entire crate of peaches to give himself some flavour. He turned pale orange, pearly and fragrant. He also swallowed, by mistake, three forks, a potions assignment and a professor’s wig.
On exam day, a little student walked into the dungeon, trembling, wand in hand. She saw Philibert, all peachy and shiny. She stopped. She tilted her head. And she said: “Oh… he looks yummy.”
Nobody had ever said that to him. Philibert was so moved that he started to wobble. He wobbled and wobbled and wobbled, and seven little pieces of him broke off and rolled across the floor: seven pearly peach dice, with numbers as white as icing sugar.
(The Dungeon Master, trying not to laugh: The student got an A on her exam. Officially, for defeating the cube. Actually, she shared her lunch with him. He ate the lunch box too.)
The Gelée mystique dice (“mystic jelly”) were born. Soft, pearly and sweet as a ripe peach, they’re perfect for players who look dangerous but are actually big softies. They don’t wobble when you roll them. Promise.
With their pearly peach colour and easy-to-read white numbers, these acrylic polyhedral dice are perfect for your Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder or any roleplaying game (RPG). A dice set as sweet as dessert.
