Gaston was the accountant elf at St. Nick’s workshop, at the far north of the kingdom. While the other elves built toys, he counted. Ribbons. Boxes. Nails. Elves. He once counted snowflakes out of boredom. He stopped at 4 million because the sun came up.
Every year, Gaston organized the elves’ gift exchange. And every year, it was a disaster.
(The Dungeon Master, checking their notes: Roll Logistics. Oh, that’s not a skill? It should be. Gaston deserves it.)
Last year, one elf got eleven pairs of socks. Another got nothing. And Bertholdo, the elf in the back, got his own present. For the seventh year in a row. He pretended to be surprised. Nobody believed him.
This year, Gaston decided to fix the problem once and for all. No more names in a hat. No more parchment spreadsheets. He made seven cherry-red dice, engraved with teal bells, fir trees and gift boxes, and left everything to chance: the D20 to pick the elf, the D12 for the month to open it, the D8 for the number of ribbons, the D4 for how many times you’re allowed to shake the box.
Result: everyone got a present. Nobody got socks. And Bertholdo got… Gaston’s dice.
(The Dungeon Master, writing it down in their notebook: Bertholdo cried into his beard. Gaston had to make himself a second set. He counted it three times before wrapping it. It was still seven dice.)
The Échange de cadeaux dice (“gift exchange”) were born. Red as a Christmas ribbon and decorated with festive teal motifs, they’re the perfect gift for a player exchange… or for treating yourself. Guaranteed: not socks.
With their marbled red and raised Christmas engravings, these acrylic polyhedral dice are perfect for your Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder or any roleplaying game (RPG) during the holidays. A festive dice set to slip under the tree.
