Dents de la mer Dice - 7D Set

Wilfried is a yeti. He’s always cold. He wears three tuques, one on top of the other. One day, tired of shivering in the Frosted Peaks, he headed south on an iceberg. He now lives in the Blue Lagoon, on an iceberg that melts a little more every summer. He still finds it too chilly.

One morning, a huge fin began circling the iceberg. A shark. The biggest shark in the whole Lagoon. The fishermen call it “Jaws of the Sea.” It circled and circled, closer and closer, making a strange noise: clack-clack-clack-clack.

(The Dungeon Master, checking their notes: Wilfried rolled Perception. He got a 17. He figured out where the noise was coming from. The shark’s teeth were chattering. It was freezing. It had come to snuggle up against the iceberg by mistake, thinking it was a warm rock.)

Wilfried took pity on it. He knows that feeling all too well. He took off one of his three tuques, leaned over the water and pulled it down over the shark’s head, right down to its eyes. The shark stopped moving. It closed its eyes. It sighed, which is very rare for a shark. Clack… clack… clack. Then nothing.

The next day, on the Lagoon beach, the fishermen found seven teal green teeth, shaken loose by all that chattering. The whole coast panicked: Jaws of the Sea had lost its teeth! The shark was delighted. Without teeth, nobody was afraid of it anymore. It could finally swim in peace, wearing its tuque.

Since then, it comes by Wilfried’s iceberg every morning. It brings him fish, which it can’t eat anymore anyway. Wilfried cooks them. They eat together. The shark chews with its gums. It takes a while.

(The Dungeon Master, writing it down in their notebook: Wilfried only has two tuques left. He’s very cold. He says it was worth it. His teeth chatter as he says it. His are still holding on.)

The fishermen kept the seven teeth. Teal green, sparkling like the water of the Lagoon, they were given white numbers and they roll even better than they used to bite. The Dents de la mer dice (“jaws of the sea”) were born. They’re perfect for sea monsters, big-hearted yetis and players whose bark is worse than their bite.
