Carcassonne: Ext 1: Auberges & Cathédrales – 2025 Version (FR) adds meaningful depth and calculated risk to the classic tile-laying experience. This expansion introduces new land tiles featuring inns and cathedrals, which significantly change how roads and cities are scored. Roads with inns and cities with cathedrals can score much higher than usual, but only if they are completed. Any incomplete feature using one of these buildings scores zero, turning every placement into a high-stakes decision.

The expansion also introduces the Grand Partisan, a powerful follower that counts as two regular followers when determining majority control. This addition intensifies competition for cities, roads, and fields, creating more dramatic turns and strategic blocking opportunities. A full extra set of followers is included, allowing up to six players to join the game and making Carcassonne even more welcoming for larger groups.
