A round-glasses, striped-scarf cat stars on a cover styled after a young wizard's tale, a fanged feline graces the blood-red jacket of a gothic parody, and two costumed sweethearts share the spotlight on the pink cover of a classic romance parody. Further along, a cat whistles through the wind with a flying umbrella in a magical-nanny style cover, a stitched-together green monster illustrates a classic-creature parody, and a wide orange eye stares out from the dark cover of a dystopian-novel parody. Each fake book cover has its own color palette and art style, from mustard-yellow western to purple gothic tale, for a set that is as funny as it is polished.

This feline library puzzle also stands out for its responsible production: the box and pieces are printed on 100 percent recycled board with vegetable-based inks, with no plastic used in the packaging. Every title is a wink at a well-known book or film, making it a fun spot-the-reference game as well as a puzzle.

The artwork is by Nia Gould, a UK-based illustrator whose colorful feline world also appears on other jigsaw puzzles from the same publisher. Her round, expressive style gives each of the eighteen characters real personality, whether wizards, vampires, or amateur detectives.
