This puzzle from the Tales Around the World collection brings to life the well-known West African tale of Anansi the spider. All around, the jungle buzzes with life: a blue monkey climbs through the branches, a tortoise makes its way slowly along the ground, and a bird and a snail hide among the palm trees and dense foliage framing the scene.

Anansi is an iconic figure of Akan folklore, originating in Ghana, where the clever spider is the central character of countless stories passed down through generations. In the tale of the pot of wisdom, Anansi tries to gather all the world's wisdom into a pot to keep for himself, only for it to spill out and be shared with everyone. These stories also crossed the Atlantic with the African diaspora and hold an important place in Caribbean folklore today.
