Explorers (multiple)
That's it, you found it! A new world, virgin and unexplored and for good reason: the ground is made up of floating stones which had to hide this continent by moving it during all these years.
Unfortunately you are not the only one, other adventurers will try to explore these new lands and bring back more wealth! It's up to you to make the best use of the maps and to plan your route well in order to become the greatest of explorers!
At the start, you and each of the other explorers place four landscape tiles – grasslands, bodies of water, desert or mountains – and three different score tiles in your game setting. Then from your starting village, you go exploring.
Exploration cards, each of which shows two landscapes, indicate which landscapes you are allowed to traverse. On your turn, you reveal an exploration card, choose one of two terrain types, then check three boxes in front of your current location. Your teammates must then decide whether to place only two "x's" on the same landscape, or choose the other landscape and tick off three "x's". All of your "x's" must be orthogonally adjacent, so you need to plan well to avoid getting stuck with "bad" landscape choices.
In four turns, you expand your territory and receive a special action for each checked box containing an object. You receive points for supplies and gems, with a map you can place "x's" on any type of terrain, and lost temples can be explored with keys - but whoever reaches the temple in first receives the most points!
Explorers contains a single-player version as well as additional challenge tiles for experienced players, with over a million possible game combinations.
