Loop puts a brilliant new spin on the classic shedding card game, in the style of President: forget the idea that a bad hand will haunt you for the whole game. At the start, each player is dealt a hand of thirteen cards and sets two aside, keeping eleven cards in play. The goal is simple: get rid of all your cards by playing, on your turn, a single card, a pair, or a run stronger than the last one played. But as soon as a round ends, your hand changes owners: it moves on to your neighbor, while you inherit theirs. Round after round, everyone ends up playing every one of the hands that shift from player to player each round, which completely changes the game: no one can blame bad luck for very long, since every player passes through the exact same cards over the course of the game. To spice things up, the number 8 cards, decorated with an hourglass, hold a special power: played, they stop the round dead in its tracks and hand the initiative back to whoever played them; set aside at the start of a round, they can flip the value hierarchy and turn the weakest cards into fearsome weapons. A fast-paced card game full of twists, where the real question is no longer whether you have a good hand, but whether you know how to make the most of it.

Loop is the international edition, revised for games of 4 to 6 players, of an original game by the same designer that came out in Japan in 2023 and was already praised for its unique concept of hands that circulate from player to player each round. The game draws on the classic President, the beloved shedding game found at countless family game nights, while adding its own twist on time through hourglass cards that can flip the value hierarchy.

Loop was created by Takashi Saito, already celebrated for the original version of the game and its clever idea of circulating hands, while the colorful artwork, dominated by midnight blue and gold, comes from Charlene Ingouff.
