A rosy pink and mauve sky sets the horizon ablaze at winter dusk, while the Pointe-au-Père lighthouse stands tall and slender, white with a red lantern room, on the shore of the St. Lawrence River in Rimouski, Quebec. Around it, a handful of coastal buildings cluster together, including a pavilion with striking modern architecture that today houses the maritime historic site. Built in 1909, the Pointe-au-Père lighthouse rises 33 metres, making it Canada's second-tallest lighthouse, just behind the one at Cap-des-Rosiers in the Gaspe region. Its octagonal reinforced concrete tower, braced by flying buttresses, is an architectural feat designed by French engineer Henri de Miffonis. Designated a National Historic Site since 1974, the grounds are now home to the Pointe-au-Père Maritime Historic Site, which tells the story of the St. Lawrence River's maritime past and welcomes thousands of visitors every summer.

His work earned him the title of 2023 Wildlife Photographer of the Year, awarded by Canadian Geographic magazine, a recognition that confirms his talent for capturing the wild beauty of Canada.
